OUR LOONEY PLANET

with Ian & Justine

Globe Trekker, the iconic 90s travel series, which also aired as Lonely Planet, reached a global audience of 300 million throughout its groundbreaking, 20-year run. Viewers tuned in to see the hosts travel around the world, in an era before devices, relying on human to human connections.

Now the original hosts, Ian & Justine, are back with a new travel series that explores our shared home, one conversation at a time.

A new travel series from old hosts

Our Looney Planet with Ian & Justine interweaves conversations with footage from Globe Trekker episodes, documentaries and other media. Expect surprise guests, the occasional gaffe, and laughs, as Ian & Justine explore everything from unfamiliar customs to breathtaking landscapes.

Today, most people can’t imagine traveling without a device to tell them when, where, why, and how. But during Globe Trekker our interactions were simply aided by a phrase book, paper tickets, and a foldout map.

Our Looney Planet carries on a legacy that began in the late 1970s with the publication of the Lonely Planet guidebooks which revolutionized travel by giving low-budget travelers the guidance needed to travel off-the-beaten track and experience the cultural and historical context of their surroundings.

So pack your bags, dust off that backpack, and together let’s rediscover all that we can learn from one another. Whether you're a seasoned trekker or an armchair traveler, Our Looney Planet promises a delightful and informative escape to the far reaches of our shared home.
